there have been some wonderful ads from the no on 8 people...

here are three more that are both clever and right on target.

A lot of news outlets are reporting that these ads might be actually hurting the "No on 8" movement. The margin is narrowing, and several partisan groups, both for and against, are polling it to pass. And libs are ticked at your boy Obama for staying mum.

Michael,

I actually haven't seen any of these ads on television. The "no" ads I've seen have been less fun and based on a "it just isn't fair" message.

I have seen lots of ads from the "yes" people, with funding primarily from the Mormons and the Knights of Columbus, filled with half-truths and outright lies I mentioned in an earlier post.

As for the polling... I have seen conflicting reports. Time will tell. Regardless of who wins, there will be other "battles" I'm sure.

In Arizona the issue is Same Sex marriage PERIOD with prop 102 (which would amend the AZ constitution to define marriage as between 1 man and 1 woman, needless to say the orthodox Mormons aren't pleased either). It seems like everywhere we go we see "Yes on Prop 102, Support Marriage" which is misleading and implies that somehow marriage in general (for anyone) will be hurt by voting No. There are no signs saying "vote no" except for a few of the "Yes" signs which have been...restructured (something like "NO...vote for equality!" in bright orange spray paint). I've been tempted to aid and abet the sign restructuring...

As for federal offices, no one can really bridge the same-sex marriage issue unless they know for a fact they won't get elected. It would rock the boat too much... just like abortion has and Israel-Palestine.
